Windows Phone 8.1, New Lumia And Ativ To be Featured At BUILD 2014

Microsoft might Unveil Windows Phone 8.1 at BUILD 2014. There has been a lot of chatter about the upcoming major Windows Phone update, and it is not quite known for sure exactly when the update is going to be released. Report claims that Windows Phone 8.1 core development has been completed, and that only a few minor bugs remain which the secondary team will iron out. According to a new rumor, Windows Phone 8.1 has achieved RTM status, meaning that Microsoft has shipped the firmware to its OEM partners.

Manufacturers get their hands on an update early because they have to carry out various tests before the put it out on their devices. Moreover, with the launch of Windows Phone 8.1, several manufacturers are also expected to launch new devices which will come with the update pre-installed. Others will receive it in the form of an over-the-air update.
Nokia is expected to unveil new Lumia smartphones at BUILD 2014, it has already scheduled a press event. Samsung has reportedly been working on a new Windows Phone flagship for a long time, one that may be a Verizon exclusive. Rumor has it that new WP 8.1 phones, including Lumias and the Samsung ATIV SE, might become available on April 23rd.
