Samsung To Release World's First Curved UHD TV This Month
Samsung has revealed the availability and pricing for a slew of products, among them being the svelte U9000 Curved UltraHD TV. The U9000 Series UHD TV features Samsung's Auto Depth Enhancer, a proprietary algorithm for automatically adjusting contrast to provide an enhanced sense of depth. There's also PurColor technology, Peak Illuminator & Precision Black, and the ability to wall-mount the curved displays using VESA Standards-compatible mounts.
The 55-inch model will be available for $3,999 USD (N660,000), while the 65-inch will be priced at $4,999 USD (N825,000) and the behemoth 78-inch will be trump them both at $7,999 USD (N1,320,000). There's no specific availability time range or launch date for the 78-inch model.
Said Samsung's Executive VP Joe Stinziano, "From our full lineup of UHD and curved TVs to our Shape Wireless Audio-Multiroom Systems and content partnerships, we pride ourselves on offering consumers the ecosystem of choice, with beautifully designed premium home entertainment products that best suit their lifestyles."
